After Grad Party Contributors for Class of 2008

About the After Grad Party:

Our chance is here to provide our seniors with a very special and life-saving event. The All Night Alcohol and Drug-Free After Graduation Party! This party will be our gift to the Class of 2008!  The two most dangerous nights of the year for teens are after the prom and graduation, with graduation being the biggest party night. Peer pressure is great and many feel that a celebration is not complete without alcohol or drugs. For the past fifteen years, Brookville parents and our community have pulled together to provide a fabulous party without the dangers of alcohol or drugs. This celebration is the last time that the class will be together as a whole and we want to make it truly the party of a lifetime!

The party will be a success if we all take an active part and show enthusiastic support. For those of you who have worked on the party before, you know what a precious memory it is to be involved and how much fun it is to work with other parents who are committed to the idea.

Again, the party is a GIFT from us to our kids! The party represents a GIFT of LOVE.....a GIFT of FUN.....a GIFT of LIFE!

The following is a list of committees which need to be formed in order to make this party a success.

Fundraising/Donations: Responsible for securing money and prizes through community donations.

Decorations: Responsible for preparation for an actual decoration of the cafeteria, hallways and individual rooms in order to transform them to conform to the theme of the party.

Entertainment: Responsible for securing entertainment for the entire evening.

Food: Responsible for providing food and drinks for everyone for the entire night. The food and drinks are mainly provided through donations with some assistance from Senior parents.
Security: Responsible for maintaining a safe, alcohol and drug free environment for students and parent workers.

Tickets: Responsible for selling tickets to students, preparing packets, “goodie” bags and man the check-in desk the night of the party.

Prizes: Will work with the Ticket and Entertainment Committees to distribute prizes secured by donations and will also assist in securing additional prizes.

Casino: Responsible for decorating and running the casino.

Publicity: Responsible for promoting and publicizing the party to the students in order to encourage their attendance.

Clean-Up: Responsible for packing and storing items from the party for future use and for preparing an inventory of stored items. They are also responsible for securing boxes, tape and markers for labeling items stored and overall clean-up of rooms used for the party. Chaired by one (1) junior parent.

Class of 2008 After Graduation Party Information
Here is some REALLY IMPORTANT STUFF:

We want to make sure that everyone has a wonderful time at this year's AGP and in order for that to happen you need to be aware of the rules that govern our event.

1. Who may attend the Party? Only members of the BHS Class of 2008 (whether they graduate in June or August). Eligibility for graduation is determined by the school Guidance Office. Family and friends will be allowed to "walk thru" between 9:30 and 10:30 pm only. No elementary, middle or high school students over the age of 10 years, will be allowed inside and may wait outside in a secured area with our Security personnel while parents are viewing. In addition, any contributors to the party (i.e. local businesses, etc.) will be invited as well.

2. Arrive on time. Students will be admitted from 11 pm to 12 midnight. The doors will close at midnight. If it is unavoidable that you must arrive after midnight, prior arrangements must be made with the AGP Chairman. Entry beyond those guidelines will be by permission of the AGP Chairman.

3. Stay all night. Students usually don't want to leave. Remember, this is not a lock-in and you may leave at any time, however once you leave, you may not return and you're not eligible to win any of the Grand prizes given out at the end of the night. If you leave early, you may take your gift bag and door prize. Your parents will be called prior to you leaving the party early. This party will last until approximately 6 AM.

4. Wear casual clothes and your AGP t-shirt. Clothing normally worn to school will be fine. Lightweight clothing and comfortable shoes/sandals are suggested. Make sure you have pockets in which to carry casino money.

5. For your convenience, all belongings will be checked in at the "front desk" upon arrival. You will have access to your belongings throughout the evening. Security/Ticket personnel will remain with the students' articles all night.

6. The only thing you need to bring to the Party is your ticket. NO MONEY WILL BE NEEDED!

7. No drinking, drugs, or smoking permitted. Any student (or worker) who shows up under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused admission. Furthermore, parents will be notified so that their student can be picked up and taken home.

Please make sure to buy your ticket in advance of the party. It helps us with our prize count. If, for some reason buying your ticket in advance is not possible, you may purchase at the door but please contact the AGP Chairman.
