What a celebration of memories, friendships and a great week-end! Excitement was definitely in abundance as classmates began arriving from Colorado, California, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and various places in Virginia.

The “Welcome Back Dinner” at, Charley’s Restaurant filled the reserved ‘back room’ with joyous sounds of 49 attendees Friday night. On Saturday morning the committee and several others met at Ramada to decorate and prepare for the BIG EVENT that began with a Hospitality Reception at 6 p.m. and seventy attendees.

It was a highlight and honor to have Mr. James R. Whorley, Principal of Brookville High School speak to the class, comparing the, “then and now” eras of our lives and Alma Mater. On behalf of Brookville High School, Mr. Whorley accepted a gift presentation from the Class of 1957, a large framed woven tapestry of the old Brookville High School. It will be placed in the current school, “In a very prominent location,” said Mr. Whorley. The gift was given in honor and in memory of classmates of 1957.

The 'Official' Class Photographs were taken followed by a delicious Dinner Buffet and the remainder of the evening was filled with times of reminiscing, led by Jim Overacre, Class President, all five of our high school years. The Class honored him with the presentation of an engraved gavel and dedicated the 194 page Reunion Book, "A Book of Memories" to him in recognition of his achievements and leadership, as a token of gratitude, respect and admiration.

Classmates, Ron Hendrick, Dave Wright, Loretta Layne Hatcher, Sara Webb Kipp, Allen Wright, Louis Kiger, Earl Thompson, and Elizabeth Gough Sollenberger, shared memories and recounted histories of each of the high school years from 8th. through 12th. grades. And yes, we danced a little too, but all to soon it was time to say farewell. The Reunion Week-end concluded Sunday morning with thirty-five attending the worship service at the new Thomas Road Baptist Church, pastored by, Dr. Jerry Falwell, also a BHS member, Class of 1950. He welcomed and recognized the Class of 1957 saying gleefully, that we looked no younger than he!

Pictured below are just a few memorable highlights of a week-end that we will never forget. In them we can relive our 50th Reunion over and over...until we meet again! (pictures online soon).
