New Campbell County School System Website for 2009-2010
During the summer of 2009, the Campbell County School system began implementing a new County Schools website system which allows multiple people on the faculty and staff to create, edit and update pages for the new website. This allows the school to totally control and edit the content of their own website now. During the 2009-2010 school year, the new school website expanded and matured and has been a big success. Having multiple people within the school system responsible for various sections of the website allows for quicker updates of those sections, since they can be updated directly by the school faculty and staff.

The link in the upper left corner of BHSBees.com will take you directly to the Official Campbell County Schools BHS website home page.

Links on the left side of the BHSBees.com website that are in Yellow point to the NEW BHS Website

The BHSBees.com website will continue to be available to communicate news & information that is not going to be maintained on the new Campbell County Brookville website. Examples of those things might include are the Alumni/Student List, Reunion Information, Famous Bees, Memories Of Bees, Bees In The Military, Sports Camp News, Fund Raiser News, Brookville-Timberlake community announcements, fund raiser news and activities.  BHSBees.com will also keep and continue to update and add to the great links to news, weather, sports, shopping, finance and computer news, RSS news feeds, etc.  If there are club or organization news or announcements that the school does not want to maintain, they can be included on BHSBees.com

Message from Larry Lewis, owner & editor of BHSBees.com

I have owned and edited BHSBees.com since September 1996, when our daughter was a sophomore at BHS. My wife and I are also both Brookville Bee alumni. The website has always been ad-free, and family-oriented, and it is our donation to the Brookville students, alumni and parents and the Brookville-Timberlake community. Over these past 14 years, I have done all of the editing and site maintenance. My wife has mainly provided patience as I put quite a few hours into keeping the website updated - even while on vacation! The average amount of time spent on the website historically has been about 10 hours a week. It has been a labor of love. I also have paid for any expenses. The main expense is the domain name and hosting fee which are not that bad. I have unlimited space, and the website is hosted by Yahoo servers.

On May 1st, 2009, I was diagnosed with a rare form of Non-Hodgkin's B-Cell lymphoma (mantle cell lymphoma), which is very difficult to treat, and is the most aggressive and deadly of all lymphomas. Only 5% of lymphoma cases are this kind. There have been only 14 cases in Central Virginia since it was first classified as its own unique type of lymphoma in 1991. The 5 year survival rate is only 50%.  Starting May 29th, 2009, I began a series of chemotherapy treatments by IV. You can read more about these treatments and my current status on the Status Updates page (link below). This disease is normally not curable, and even if you do get into remission, it normally comes back within one to three years, and then chemo treatments may not help.

The timing of the new County School website has provided a lot of relief for me, and at the perfect time. I plan to continue the BHSBees.com website as long as I am able, and I hope that the BHSBees.com website will continue to be a useful tool for the Brookville-Timberlake community, the students and alumni. You can also keep up with my progress on my Facebook website: www.facebook.com/larryandsusan or write to me directly at LarryAndSusan@bhsbees.com. (I am also working on creating a Blog where you will be able to subscribe to email updates on CaringBridge.org - but it is not yet ready. I will let everyone know when it is ready, and I start using that.)
