Friday morning October 14th - Golf at Ivy Hill Golf Club.  Call classmates and set up your own golf group.  Beginning at 9:08 am, Ivy Hill has reserved five consecutive tee times for Brookville's Class of 1980.  Ivy Hill should be able to accommodate everyone who chooses to golf.  If you can, call Ivy Hill one day this week to make certain your group does get a tee time.  Ivy Hill's telephone number is 434-525-2680.  If you do not have a group with which to golf, arrive early and see if you can join a group of your classmates.  Feel free to call or email Robin Meritt if you want to golf but do not know how to get in touch with anyone who might golf on Friday.  You may reach Robin at 434-237-8964 (please leave a message and number for Robin to call if there is no answer) or email her at RNMeritt@aol.com.

 

Friday evening - 7:30 PM - Homecoming Football Game at Brookville High School's Stinger Stadium.

 

After the Football Game - Meet at West Side Deli until midnight.  Purchase your own food and beverages and pay as you order.  West Side Deli is located in the shopping center at the corner of Timberlake Road and Old Graves Mill Road behind the Shell Gas Station and in the same parking area as Bahama Snow Shack.  (West Side Deli is providing waitresses who are working long hours to serve us.  Please be generous with your tips if you can.)

 

Saturday - Noon to 2 PM - Picnic in the Pavilion behind the American Legion on Greenview Drive.  Bring your own food and beverages.  Bring your children (or grandchildren -- yes, some of us have grandchildren already).  This is a great time for us to get to see each others' families.

 

Saturday evening - 7 PM to Midnight - Semiformal Dance/Get-together at Holiday Inn Select on Main Street in downtown Lynchburg.  Finger foods and appetizers, buffet style.  Cash bar.  A DJ will provide music.  A block of rooms were reserved for our class if you need a place to stay.  These rooms are going fast.  Call the Holiday Inn Select at 434-528-2500.

 

Cost to attend the Dance/Get-together is $30 per person.  If you have not already paid, you may pay at the door on Saturday night.  However, please contact Lynne Creasy at 434-525-1313 or Robin Meritt at 434-237-8964, by Thursday morning if possible, to let one of them know that you (and a guest if you plan to bring your spouse or a date/guest) will attend Saturday night's event at the Holiday Inn.  This will allow Lynne to better judge how much food we will need on Saturday night.  Feel free to leave a message at either Lynne or Robin's number if there is no answer.

 

We have had a great response from classmates so far.  We are going to have a great time.  Please try to come.  If you cannot make it to Saturday night's event, come on to the football game, West Side Deli, and to the picnic.  We hope to see you there.
