We have moved forward and finalized the plans for the reunion weekend.  This letter will outline the dates, places, and cost of the reunion weekend.

Mark your calendars for Friday, October 1st and Saturday, October 2nd.  The schedule of events for the weekend are as follows:

*Due to the 1999 football schedule not being finalized until February, we were unable to confirm that a home game will be played on this particular evening.  However, if a home game is scheduled, then you can count on finding a section with the graduates from the Class 1989 at Stinger Stadium (and an informal gathering afterwards at ‘The Cleaners’).  If a home game is not scheduled, then plan on an informal gathering at ‘The Cleaners’ on Main St. in downtown Lynchburg.

**Please note that tickets to the game and/or drinks and appetizers at the bar are NOT covered in the reunion cost.

Class of 1989 members, spouses, and significant others are invited to a golf outing on Saturday morning.  If you are interested in participating in this event, contact John Wern at (770) 518-0970.  He will be organizing those interested into teams and will follow up with you on the details of the golf outing.

Saturday, October 2, 1999 COVERED DISH FAMILY PICNIC from 12 - 3 PM     AT PEAKS VIEW PARK

This is a picnic for the whole family to enjoy!  Bring your spouses, significant others, and children for a day at the park!  And, also to help minimize the cost of our reunion, we are asking that you bring a covered dish to share.

If your last name starts with:
A-K Please bring a main dish. (i.e.  pizza, chicken, casserole, etc.)

L-Z Please bring a side dish (i.e. potato salad, macaroni salad, chips, etc.) and a dessert (i.e.  cookies, snack cakes, etc.)

Beverages, napkins, and utensils will be provided!  And, please refrain from bringing ANY alcoholic beverages as this is a family event!

Bring your spouses and significant others for a night of food, fun, and dancing. 
The evening will begin with a social hour with light hors d’oeuvres from 6:30 - 7:30 PM.  Following the social hour, a 4-course dinner will be served that will include a fruit cup, tossed salad, your choice of roast beef or marinated chicken, a baked potato, green beans, rolls, and dessert.  Complimentary coffee, tea, and soft drinks will be also be served.

We will be having a DJ at this event to spin those great tunes we all know and love from the 80’s. 

A cash bar will be available throughout the evening for anyone interested in purchasing beer, wine, or cocktails.  In an effort to make the cost fair to our non-drinkers, no alcohol is included in the cost of the reunion.

A block of rooms will be available to those who will be needing accommodations for Friday and/or Saturday.  Please call the Ramada Inn at (804) 846-4965 to make a reservation.  Be sure to let them know that you are with the BHS 1989 Reunion so that you qualify for the special room rates available to us.  (The cost of staying at the hotel is NOT included in the cost of the reunion).

At the end of the evening, you will receive a directory with current names and addresses of your classmates as well as a 1989 Class Reunion keepsake.

The cost of the reunion is:  $30 Single,   $60 Couple

Responses will be welcome through the end of August.  Since we need to give a head count for the dinner in September, we will be unable to accept ‘walk ins’ the night of the reunion.  So, please be prompt in your response if you are interested in attending.
