Interview with Jordan Dail, All Area Softball Awards - Congratulations to the Bees Softball Team From the News & Advance Player of the year: Jordan Dail (Junior) Dail said repeatedly throughout the Bees’ postseason run that she thrived in the pressure-packed situations. And did she ever. The southpaw recorded 107 of her whopping 358 strikeouts during Brookville’s seven playoff games, and she fashioned three of her dominating nine no-hitters in those win-or-go-home games (which included a pair of 20-strikeout no-hitters on back-to-back days). The Region 3A West and Conference 30 player of the year went 23-3 in the circle and finished with a miniscule 0.475 ERA in 162 innings pitched. And when she needed a big hit, she came through with a .380 batting average, 14 extra-base hits (four home runs) and 28 RBIs to earn first-team all-Group 3A honors. Coach of the year: Gary Ferguson The Bees continued rolling under Ferguson’s watch, posting a 24-3 record and advancing to a state championship game for the third consecutive season. Ferguson was voted the coach of the year by Region 3A West, Conference 30 and the Seminole District with the Bees claiming the Conference 30 and Region 3A West crowns, again. First Team Catcher: Megan Dray (Junior) The UNC commit continued to shine behind the plate despite missing a small portion of the season while helping the Bees’ girls basketball team in the state tournament. The Seminole District co-player of the year hit .460 with five doubles, three triples, an area-high nine home runs, 35 RBIs and 28 runs scored. She struck out only nine times while earning second-team all-Region 3A West honors and first-team accolades from Conference 30. First Team First Base: Hannah Wright (Senior) Wright was named first-team all-Group 3A in addition to her first-team honors from Region 3A West, Conference 30 and the Seminole District after hitting .359 with eight doubles, seven home runs, 22 RBIs and 17 runs scored. First Team Outfield: Danielle Calloway (Junior) Calloway continued to set the table for the Bees’ offense at a prolific rate, hitting .447 with six doubles, six triples and one home run. She scored 36 times and drove in 16 runs while earning first-team honors from Group 3A, Region 3A West, Conference 30 and the Seminole District. First Team Outfield: Meredith Rosser (Senior) A staple in left field for the Bees, Rosser earned first-team all-Conference 30 honors and finished her high school career batting .323 with eight RBIs and 21 runs scored. Second Team 3rd Base: Chelsea Moran (Sophomore) First-team all-Conference 30. … Batted .333 with 4 doubles, one home run, nine RBIs and 12 runs scored.
